In May 1956, when Padre
Pio inaugurated
the hospital,

He asked that

respond
with solicitude
to this call of
God to
aid those who
are sick
in union with

with a
longing desire to draw all
the suffering
humanity into the heart so
as
to present
it - with you - to
the mercy
of the
Heavenly
Father.”
Sitting in his place in the old Choir before the Crucifix that gave him the Sacred Wounds and in the Silence of the chapel, he would recite the Irresistible Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus by memory.
